Common Questions

Is engineered white oak plywood cheaper than solid oak?
Substantially - you get the grain, texture, and warm tonal variation of white oak at a fraction of the cost of solid timber, on a panel that is more dimensionally stable and available in full 2400 × 1200mm sheets from $88.55.
What finishes work on engineered white oak?
Stains, oils (including hard-wax oils), and clear polyurethanes all take beautifully. The engineered face is consistent from sheet to sheet, so large jobs finish evenly - no surprise colour mismatches between panels.
What is the core made of?
A stable #1 poplar core. It machines and cuts cleanly, holds screws and hinges well, and keeps the panel flat - which is what you want for cabinetry doors and wall linings.
Is it suitable for kitchens and bathrooms?
It is an interior panel and works well in kitchens for cabinetry and feature panelling. For high-splash wet areas, seal all faces and edges properly, or talk to us about the right panel for the job - 027 358 0315.
